Indy Black Chamber of Commerce Honored with President’s Choice Award at 2026

The Indy Black Chamber of Commerce has been named the President’s Choice Award recipient at the 2026 Champions of Impact Awards, presented by Indianapolis Recorder. Now in its 19th year, Champions of Impact celebrates leaders and organizations whose work creates lasting change across business, education, health, culture, and community leadership throughout Indiana.

This distinguished honor recognizes Larry Williams and Anita Williams, co-founders of the Indy Black Chamber, for decades of steadfast leadership, advocacy, and service to Black-owned businesses and the broader Indianapolis community. The President’s Choice Award is reserved for honorees whose influence extends beyond a single initiative—reflecting sustained commitment, integrity, and measurable community impact.

Under Larry and Anita’s leadership, the Indy Black Chamber has become a cornerstone institution—creating access to capital, amplifying Black-owned businesses, fostering economic equity, and building pathways for long-term growth. Their work has helped shape a more inclusive business ecosystem while ensuring that Black entrepreneurs are not only represented, but resourced and supported.

The 2026 Champions of Impact Awards Dinner took place on Friday, January 16, 2026, at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, bringing together trailblazers from across the state who exemplified leadership rooted in purpose and progress.

This recognition affirms what many in the community already know: legacy is not given—it is built. The Indy Black Chamber’s impact is measured not by a single moment, but by years of dedication to strengthening Indianapolis and creating opportunities that endure.

Congratulations to Larry and Anita Williams on this well-deserved honor.
